Yesterday a group of us was given a private tour of the Gardens of Marqueyssac by charming and competent Stephanie. The day was perfect: the late afternoon sun dancing over the rounded shapes of the 150 000 box plants, carefully and artistically pruned in an Italian style of the Romantic Era. Tha Garden dates back to the late 1700's and was recently (1997)restored to its current splendour - after having been standing almost forgotten and completely overgrown for over fifty years before that. The resilience and the remarkable character of the box cannot possibly be displayed more effectively than in this beautiful and unique garden!Click on Link:
