Travelling for a few days through one of the most beautiful areas of France, is a pleasure beyond words. Yes! Even for me! So I shall let my pics tell a small part of the story........
The abbey at Villeneuve -- the irises were out in full bloom, a soft drizzle softened the colours, the old stones tell of a history so rich and colourful that one wants to learn more..... 
a little sparrow in my bathroom window, sheltering from the rain, chattering away and waxing lyrical about the joys of spring in France..... 
Walking down this rough stone foot path for about 40 minutes eventually brought me to Rocamadour. What a breathtaking view this was, arriving on foot upon this amazing medieval town perched precariously against the cliffs. I would recommend it for anyone who plans to visit Rocamadour. Rather than arrive by car and having to search for an hour for an expensive parking place, then fighting your way through the crowds of tourists, the sheer pleasure of emerging out of the thick oak forest after a bracing walk along the wall of the gorge, and then to see the town as the pilgrams of old would have seen it, is an experience that will remain with you for a long, long time
Along the way, the little newborn lambs were not so happy with the constant drizzle --- but they did provide friendly company along the path. And freshly picked strawberries and the sweetest cherries! -- the perfect supper
The Beautiful old manor house, with its stables that were converted into guest rooms, offers one of the most pleasant overnight stays imagineable. Domaine de la Rhue comes highly recommended -- Christine and Eric Jooris will see to your every comfort and provide you with all the information you would need to explore the area ---and then give you an excellent breakfast before you set off on your journey again.
